On The Night

chicken-937584_960_720So, you’re coming to your first Flicks in the Field…how does it all work?

Firstly, you need to know where to find us. We’ll be set up in the Bangalow Showgrounds accessed down Market Street right beside Bangalow Public School.

Here’s a handy map:

In normal circumstances, Flicks in the Field has a real picnic-slash-drive-in vibe about it. But in these Covidy-times, we’re operating pretty much as a conventional (but unreal) drive-in.  We’ll direct you to the best available car-space and ensure appropriate social distancing so everything’s hunky-dory.

Please pre-purchase a ticket online. On the night, simply bring your printed ticket (or show us on your trusty phone), we’ll scan it at the gate and help you to the best available spot in front of our jumbo screen.

PRO TIP: It’s a first in, best dressed scenario!

You can park facing the screen, or back it up and load the rear of your wagon or ute up with cushions and comfy things. To get things started, you’ll enjoy some short films or trailers before the first feature kicks off.

You don’t have to stay in your car, but we do need you to stay realz close to it. Feel free to bring chairs, blankets or beanbags and bunker in on the grass by your car.

Food? No doubt you’ll be a bit peckish, but don’t fret. We’ll have popcorn, drinks, treats and sweets available, as well as more substantial deliciousness from some of our favourite, local food carts and purveyors of fine victuals.

What’s that? But what if I’m right down the back, how will we hear the movie soundtrack? we hear you ask. Simple: it’s piped like magic directly to your car stereo. Just tune in to our special frequency (we’ll tell you on the way in) and you’ll be as right as rain.

Speaking of rain. Unless it’s absolutely bucketing down, the show will very likely go on. After all, you’ll be as snug as in your car. If we do happen to cancel, we’ll do it at 4.00 pm on the day. We’ll post an update on Facebook and, if cancelled, we’ll refund your ticket without fuss.
